Dwayne Edwards and the staff at VMHA were a God send when appealing my VA disability decision. They were sensitive to the severity of my injuries and patient as I explained the long term effects on my life. The entire process was expedient, caring and professional. I’m so glad i found a group of people committed to serving us as their appreciation for how we served our country. They can’t guarantee I will get the final results I feel I deserve, but I feel they gave me more than a fighting chance. I will recommend them to every vet I know that’s battling to be compensated for pain and suffering from military service.

From day one, I spoke virtually with the CEO/founder, who listened closely with compassion and promptly arranged for me to begin the process and connect with a case manager. That case manager stayed engaged throughout and followed through on every commitment, I always felt comfortable asking questions, and every email or concern I raised was addressed promptly and with care.What impressed me most was how they handled the unexpected: my appointment with VMHA’s medical staff was originally scheduled, but when my C&P exam got moved up ahead of schedule, VMHA accommodated the change and made sure I met with them before the exam. That kind of flexibility made me feel like my case truly mattered and was handled on time.VMHA genuinely cares about the quality of life, mental health, and wellbeing of our veteran community. Without their help, I don’t believe I would have achieved the outcome I earned. I first learned about an IMO (Independent Medical Opinion) through a group I attended. I was looking for someone who would truly listen and begin to understand the struggles I had been dealing with. Unfortunately, when I explained that I was seeking a second opinion, no one seemed willing to take on my case.VHMA was different. They were willing to hear my story and take the time to understand what I had been going through. I was especially glad to see that they have a two-step process. After speaking with Dwayne and sharing my story, I scheduled an appointment with a psychologist as the next step.After that appointment, VHMA let me know that, based on what they had learned, they felt I had enough of a case to proceed. VMHA is a truly incredible company that actually cares about veterans. The process is smooth. The Doc cares, listens and if necessary, produces a thorough review and medical opinion. The medical opinion is based on facts and medical rationale and carries some serious weight. In my case, I encountered a very negative C&P experience due to my anxiety. The IMO prevailed against the exam and a favorable grant was awarded. Choose Dwayne and VMHA over anyone else.

Things I like and dislike about VMHA:Like:Quick and easy processDoesn’t charge a ridiculous fee or require a percentage of disability back pay.Offer’s a reasonable payment plan if you are in need of one.Didn’t give me the feeling like I had just been robbed without even accomplishing the task I was trying to achieve in pursuing VA disability.The Doctor assigned to my case, Alana Moses, did a tremendous job listening and writing up my diagnosis in a timely manner, provided relative reasoning to support my diagnosis, and provided a nexus to further support my diagnosis.VMHA provided a great number of resources for continued treatment so that I could get the reliable help that I need.Dislikes:I’m upset I didn’t find them sooner.Salute to Dwayne Edwards and the VMHA team for the help and services they provided me!

I did get an increase on my PTSD rating but it was not the amount of increase I deserve. Dwayne reached out to me and is guiding me through the process of my appeal. Glad they care so much and I really appreciate them.
